Tips:
Why is the price of blood glucose test strips (for diabetics) so high?
I know something about economics, and usually when something is cheap to produce, competition brings the price down eventually. But blood glucose test strips, which are used in little meters to test one’s blood sugar, are between $ 30 cents and $ 1.00 for each strip. Yet (I believe) the cost to make them is probably a couple cents.

You hit the nail on the head. Corporate price gouging. They all work on the same principal yet different companies charge the same prices. So one would suppose that patents aren’t the reason for high prices. And a captive market also help.I for one refuse to test. I keep my G/L to almost normal, my hba1c is 5.6.
Pricing works the same as oil industry. If you drill it, refine it, and sell it, you mean to tell me that you can’t sell cheaper than so called competitors.I don’t let the get me to bad. I bought a 100 cc honda motor bike, it cost me $ 2 a week for gas.If americans would stick together and boycott just one industry this price fixing would come down.A star for you!
How to Use Copper Pool Testing Strips
The Uses of Copper Pool Strips
With the copper pools strips, you can test the copper, pH and total alkalinity of the pool water. This is easy to do when you use the strip test kit. It has a chart that will tell you if the water is in the appropriate level range. When you use the strips, you simply dip them in the water and compare the color of the strip to the supplied chart. This will tell you if the water chemical levels need adjustment. If the adjustments are needed, you will have to add chemicals according to their specific instructions.
PH Levels in a Copper Pool Strip
The copper pools strip test kit can help keep the chemical levels where they should be when people are using the pool regularly. If you do not use the test kit to check the levels, the pool water can become unsafe. The test strip will test the pH levels.
If the levels are low or high, you must add soda ash to raise the level or use a pH reducer to lower the level. Then you can check the water again after a few hours to make sure that the other chemical levels are safe. This is an important part of pool maintenance.
Water Testing with Copper Pools Kit
If you have a pool, you should always have a pool testing kit. The copper pool testing kit will work for resting the necessary chemical levels. It is important to keep the pH level between 7.2 and 7.6, and the chorine level between 1.5 and 3.0 PPM. If the levels are out of range, add chemicals to correct the problem before anyone is allowed to swim. After you use the strips, you can discard and use a new one every time.
The copper pool test strips are easy to use and they will help you maintain your pool.
If the pool levels are safe, then the people that swim with be safe. If the chemical levels are high or low, use the proper chemicals one at a time to correct the problem. You can use these copper pools strips for above ground pools and indoor pools. This is the best way to keep swimmers safe and maintain a clean pool. You should always have a test kit if you have a pool that is used by anyone to swim. This protects the pool and the people.

Expiration date 01/2010,
This product came as advertised: terrific price, prompt delivery. BUT they did not disclose that the expiration date is less than 6 months. The expiration date was listed on the packing slip AFTER they arrived, although they did say you could return them if you didn’t open the package. I’d run out of strips and didn’t have a choice. Just be careful. Deep Discount Centers phone number is (832) 368-5877 if you want to call before ordering. NOTE: when they found out what had happened, they sent me an additional 50 test strips FREE with an expiration date of 10/2010, a more than generous action. I agree, they’re good guys and I’ll order with them again.

|Courteous customer service but products are suspect,
I ordered the 100 count test strips and received 2 boxes of 50 count. Although substitutions were noted, the invoice indicated that the expiration dates were in 2010 (product was ordered June 2009). After looking at the boxes, I noticed that one of them was due to expire in Sept 2009. This particular box also had the prescription information for a patient in PA. I contacted Deep Discount Center who said the reason for this is because they purchase supplies from pharmacies in cases where the customer did not pick up their medication/supplies. I was kind of disturbed to see this woman’s personal information (address, phone #, DOB, etc) on the package. I shredded her personal information, and I hope anyone else in this situation would do the same. Deep Discount Center sent me a free 50 count box of test strips free of charge due to the error in expiration.
Although this has nothing to do with Deep Discount Center, I am more cautious now about ordering prescriptions at local pharmacies and I would like to warn other consumers that if they do not pick up what they ordered at pharmacy, it may end up in a warehouse like Deep Discount Center. I hate to think how many of my prescriptions with my personal information may be floating around.

|No problem strips,
I found these strips within the parameters of the bayer test solution test..they are half the price of the ones at the pharmacy..don’t know why…but those paticular strips I bought worked as normal..I am going to purchase some more right now ,hopefully they are as good.
